Ephesians 4:13-15 “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.”
All would agree that the Bible is God’s inspired word and it is the complete resource of all truth when it comes to Jehovah’s purposes and instructions on how to worship him with “spirit and truth”. That stated, why so many variants of the truth within the ex-JW community? The above scripture certainly can be applied especially “carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men” to those who are considered PIMO/PISA within the congregation who are deconstructing the teachings of the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses by visiting the many websites and online media of the ex-JW community.
From my experience there are a few ex-JW.org / WT “commentators” that are probably the most prolific writers and publishers about Jehovah’s Witnesses and the WT organization today that are focusing on scripture although there are probably others. I expect that most PIMO’s are very familiar with those who have been on some level helpful with unraveling many of the false teachings promoted by the JW organization. (myself included) The question that must be addressed when we consider these ex-JW “commentators” and their new found understanding of scripture would be if they themselves are being taught by the holy spirit. Assuming that is the case then why do they not all agree on the basic simple to understand teachings? (Ephesians 4:4-6 ) When we ask for Jehovah to supply us with the holy spirit to guide us with understanding of his word from a pure heart of faith, it is guaranteed! The holy spirit only teaches one truth and thus those who are no longer under the “delusion” sent by the MOL are now qualified to being taught by the holy spirit and would be unified in teaching the same truth 1 Cor. 2:13. The following are unambiguous truths everyone following the teachings of the holy spirit would be in harmony with.
Jesus command that all partake at the memorial John 6:53 (see “The Lord’s Super” )
All of God’s faithful household are included in the New Covenant. Jehovah has had a household of worshippers since Pentecost down to today. (see Who is included in the New Covenant )
God’s Spiritual temple is made up of 144,000 anointed foundation stones with Jesus as the chief cornerstone where those who worship God with spirit and truth as “living stones” are built upon. 1 Cor. 3:16,17; Ephesians 2:19-22; 2 Cor. 6:16,17 (see Does God Have an Organization )
Would not agreement on these three foundational teachings be evidence of being taught by the holy spirit and a guide for us to determine how much credence we would assign to any ex-JW commentator? 1Cor. 12:12,13
We may take into account that at times the Apostles and disciples disagreed and even did not comprehend what Jesus was teaching directly in front of them, and so we should not be surprised when we see the same situation today among Jehovah’s scattered sheep. (see article below from Proselyte of Yah) But when there is outright rejection of solid simple Bible truths this poses many problems for those who are leaving (PIMO) the WT. organization, causing much confusion to the point where many have left the worship of Jehovah altogether.
You may ask why then does this site include some “commentators” listed as a resource? The answer is quit simple. All of us have been forbidden by the organization never to consider literature outside of WT sources, especially what they label as “apostate” information, their motives now obvious to those who have cast off the WT’s shackles and are exercising their Christian freedom. I realize that most PIMO’s have investigated the ex-JW websites, podcasts, and books by the time visiting here, and probably are in somewhat of a state of confusion about what to do next. Thus, by comparing some of the “every wind of teaching” from e-JWs, with various “new” scriptural interpretations, and if armed with the understanding of God’s word taught by holy spirit (1 John 2:27 ) we easily identify “the clever cunning of men” in their deceitful scheming.(see also 1 John 4:1 ) This is essential in my opinion to be equipped to help our fellow physically in, scripturally awake brothers to remain in Jehovah’s Household until they are forcefully removed with the trumped up charge of apostasy. Therefore, we should not fear those who are exposing the JW organization’s apostasy even if they themselves are promoting some wrong teachings. Think about it, as a PIMO or PISA who attends meetings, assemblies, and the ministry you are regularly being exposed to false teachings mixed in with some solid scripturally sound teachings that upbuild us in the congregation and with the holy spirit we are able to decern truth from falsehood. Jesus and the Ephesian congregation was fully aware of the sect of Nicolaus within the congregation, the same is true today Jesus as the head of the congregation is fully aware of the MOL sitting within God’s household of worshippers. Rev. 2:6,15
Interesting article, do Christians have to agree on everything that does not affect salvation?
My personal areas of disagreements with some ex-JW commentators.
1-Who and where is the Man of Lawlessness / Evil Slave / son of destruction 2Thess. 2:1-12 Matthew 24:48 John 17:12
2-The fixed number of 144,000 co-rulers of Christ is not a symbolic number.
3- Those who Insist on JW PIMO’s to leave the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses voluntarily.
4-Those Starting a new religion, or Group of followers with men or women as designated “leaders.”
There are more, but these are predominately the focus of discussion among ex-JW’s. I offer here my short overview on the resources I utilize below and linked their “About” page (if one exists) for you to make a personal decision about considering any of their information.
Perimeno.ca (Greek “Perimeno” = “Keep waiting” Acts 1:4) Anonymous Brother / not-disfellowshipped
You will quickly notice that I choose to utilize most of the blogs/articles this brother has published (with permission) on scriptural topics which have been online since 2007 @ perimeno.ca as frankly my Eschatology / Christology research aligns with what he publishes. I have had many personal conversations with this brother over the last several years during my “physically in scripturally awake” journey and I have found the following to ring true.
- Primarily, he is a very humble and patient brother (one reason he publishes anonymously) he gives the attention to Jehovah, Jesus, and the Bible and not himself. (what you would expect from one of Christ’ brothers )
- He possesses a wealth of Watchtower history and their teachings, past and present.
- He has an outstanding command of scripture on any given topic.
- He does not encourage or insist on JW’s to stop associating with the local JW congregation and supports this with scripture, but agrees it is a personal choice.
- Perimeno has only one website and no presence on YouTube or podcast. His purpose is to help those who remain within the Household of God and not engage in reform of the organization or expose their dirty dealings.
- Most importantly he is not recruiting followers or starting another “religion.”
- Perimeno believes everything we need to know about worshipping Jehovah can be learned from the Bible, not from a website, Blog, YouTube channel, or any manmade self-proclaimed “channel.”
Robert King Forum https://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com website https://e-watchman.com/
About Page https://e-watchman.com/are-you-saying-you-are-a-prophet/
I personally view his book and website on the Bible prophecies with application to Jehovah’s Witnesses and the organization today, to be an interesting approach to exposing WT apostasy, although to my knowledge there are no scriptures to support a modern day “watchman” or “prophet” appointed to do so. Robert regularly promotes “keeping on the watch” as he applies prophecy in conjunction with current world events and calls out the JW/WT organization for its blatant self-serving false application of those prophecies claimed to be fulfilled and interpretations of those yet to be. (ex. 1914 Parousia 1919,1975…)
He has reached out, at great financial and time expense, directly to the GB, mailing letters and his book to them, the BOE’s, and branches etc. even though they all for sure ended up in the trash bin unread, as the Man of Lawlessness can’t be reasoned with, and despite the fact those that belong to God’s spiritual temple are not instructed to reform or correct the governing body the Man of Lawlessness. Jesus is fully aware of his presence and will do away with him by “the spirit of his mouth” in due time.
His book contains the best detailed and well-documented information on the WT. UN/NGO infidelity that I have found to date.
Robert is disfellowshipped and to my knowledge he does not encourage brothers to leave, but he himself will not return to the congregation, which is a personal decision for all. The JW organization he believes was /is being used by Jehovah although Apostate. He has made statements (that could be just tongue & cheek) that the GB read, and in some cases make changes, based on his writings.
You will notice, some of his regular members tend to excessively praise and thank him for his work as a self-appointed “Watchman” and this could remind any new PIMO’s and Jesus’ “scattered sheep” of the GB’s hubris and the idolatry they receive from the JW publishers, this could be in my opinion, counterproductive to what he is trying to accomplish. He still has some holdover false WT teachings, such as, who is included in the new covenant, and that only the anointed partake at the memorial that said, the question is, do we need to understand every Bible prophecy?
Suggested reading from perimeno “Prophecies We Need To Understand, and Those We Don’t”
Eric Wilson https://beroeans.net/
About https://beroeans.net/about
It was around the beginning of my awakening from WT (approx. the same time Eric began publishing online) that I was directed to Eric’s website, and he was very helpful in my examining WT teachings. He regularly published “Watchtower study reviews” that I found extremely helpful in seeing through the manipulation techniques of not only scripture, but the flock of God. (he no longer offers this) I have respect for Eric’s teaching ability based on his understanding of scripture and WT false doctrines. But I respectfully disagree on some of his latest teachings. Below are a few key observations.
Please examine this article/video on his view of PIMO’s before you visit his community. https://beroeans.net/2022/06/28/pimonomore
- His book is well written and covers most of the JW teachings / history.
- Eric and his wife have regular zoom meetings in various time zones (I have attended once ) where scriptures are discussed much like the first century congregations, with prayer, song, and all partake on a regular basis not just Nisan 14.
- They do have sisters who teach and open and close with prayer. If you disagree with that you are here forewarned.
- Eric claims he is not starting another splinter group of Christians or religion, you might think otherwise if you attend, and I don’t personally recommend this arrangement as Eric teaches that the 144,000 is a figurative number, all Christians will rule as Kings & Priest, and women can teach and pray in the congregation.
Proselyte of Yah https://proselyteofyah.wordpress.com/
This website is a recent addition to my resource list and this anonymous publisher supplies a wide range of scriptural topics utilizing the Greek and Aramaic text. He recommends no particular denomination,(and gives no claims of being an ex-JW) He is not dogmatic with his beliefs as a first century restorationist, and most topics align with the basic Bible “truths” that JW’s would agree with. His research is extensive and presented in a clear and understandable way and a great resource for Christians who want to dig deeper on Eschatology and Christology and Christendom’s apostasy.
Below resources most ex-JW and PIMOs are probably familiar with and make no doctrinal statements.
For JW current and past teachings, and all things JW…… https://jwfacts.com/
Although I do not intend for this community to focus entirely on the organization’s “dirty laundry” (there are many on YouTube that accomplish this ) it will of course be something discussed for assorted reasons. The Child Abuse scandals are a big concern for all ,and Mark O’Donnell an ex-JW has compiled many of the court cases with the transcripts from the trials settled in the past and those that are on the dockets for future trials. This resource is valuable to refute the GB’s claim that CSA does not exist in the organization, and that they are “Apostate Lies” by reading the transcripts you will discover how far the GB will go (with “worldly Attorneys”) to win at all cost these court cases…..it’s a real eye opener!
